Woodblock

For my woodblock section of my humour project I wanted to focus on the humour surrounding stereotypes. Many people associate gang crime and violence with Limerick eventhough there is so much more than that to the city.  For my woodcut I wanted my image to acknowledge the preconceived ideas people have about Limerick city while also making fun of them.

Drawing Project

For my old artist I chose Albrecht Durer and for my contemporary artist I chose Ellsworth Kelly. After a chat with Roisin, I decided for the next step of my project to recreate Ellsworth Kellys diary. I would be drawing my hand in the style of different artists before experimenting with the drawing myself. I looked at artists such as John Virtue, Gabriel Moreno, Frank  Auerbach.

 

 

 

Photoshop

For our photoshop classes we starting making patterns and wallpapers out of parts of images. We take parts of 3 chosen images and with the instructions the tutor gave us, we transformed and edited them. my chosen subject matter was butterflies and here are the results.
