It's been a while..

so sorry for the lack of blogging, was quiet sick the past while but I got loads to blog about :)

I started doing some 3D casts of my hands at the start of December..these were done by making a hollow cylinder out of paper, filling it with a special alginate (made from seaweed) and submerging my hand in it for about 10 mins. The alginate took the shape of my hand and then I filled that with plaster. Once the plaster was solid , I sliced open the cast with a blade to reveal the plaster casts of my hand. Although one is slightly broken, I was delighted with the results as they really captured the movement and lines of the hand when the hand is in certain positions. I also made some wax half casts of the remaining alginate cast.
